Meet The Team - Darris Lloyd

Tell us a bit about your role

My role as a Quantity Surveyor entails providing financial and contractual expertise, throughout the life-cycle of a project. This begins with providing Clients advice regarding feasibility of potential projects, through to post-contract final account agreements, with Clients and Subcontractors alike. 

What’s been your journey with MIMO?

I have been a member of the MIMO team for 6 months, having known Mike for several years. Since starting with MIMO, I have already worked on a plethora of projects, for a number of esteemed clients.

What’s it like to work at MIMO?

I really enjoy working at MIMO; I get to work on a broad variety of interesting projects. I feel I am a valued member of a motivated and dynamic team. Mentorship and support is always available, making it an ideal environment for any QS who wants to develop and learn.

What does collaborative consulting mean to you?

Collaborative consulting ensures that the Client's needs always come first. This approach encourages co-operation and communication between the Client and Consultant, in lieu of the antiquated approach, in which a Consultant thinks on behalf of the client. This then aids in strengthening the relationship between Client and Consultant, by working in tandem to overcome obstacles and solve problems. This results in strong professional relationships being established, built on mutual trust.

Outside of work, what are your interests and hobbies?

I enjoy spending time with my young daughter, going out for walks with my partner and dog, and a glass of red wine with a great film!
